History:

Moved to Ephrata in 1959.

Attended school in Ephrata 2nd-4th grade.

Attended school in Soap Lake 5th-6th grade.

Ephrata Junior High 7th-9th.

 

Graduated from Ephrata High School 1971
 

Delivered the Lee Theatre Movie Schedule monthly to Ephrata Residents 1967


Delivered Newspapers (Daily Newscast and Grant County Journal) in Ephrata for several years

Professional Experience:

I began my work with the Department of Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration in 1975, starting my career at Sunrise Community Facility as the Recreational Activities Director. I later transitioned into roles in Overnight Security and Maintenance, followed by a position as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor. Over time, I was promoted to the position of Supervisor and eventually served as the Facility Administrator.

I have over 30 years of experience working with incarcerated juvenile offenders.

​

Following my retirement, I embarked on a new chapter as a contract employee with Clear Risk Solutions, where I specialized in delivering educational workshops. Key areas of focus included Public Records Training, City Council Expectations and Requirements, Defensive Driving, School Bus Driving Requirements, Mandated Reporter Requirements, and Sexual Harassment (HIB) Training, among others.

Political Involvement:

Past member of the Washington State Governor's Gang Task Force Commission 1990.

City of Ephrata Parks and Recreation Commission.

Ephrata City Council 2002 - 2015.

​

Ephrata City Mayor 2015 - Present.

​

Grant Transit Authority Board of Directors 2010 - Present.

​

GTA Board Chair 2016 - Present.

Goals:

  • Continue to make Ephrata a desirable place to live, work, and raise children by fostering an open, safe, and secure environment.

  • Collaborate with social, educational, and moral institutions to promote and reinforce positive, ethical values within the community.

  • Ensure the City provides essential taxpayer-funded services—including but not limited to roads, water, and sewer—through transparent and effective communication.

  • Maintain public safety by supporting police and fire department programs that deliver reliable service and peace of mind to all residents.

  • Offer recreational opportunities that encourage healthy, balanced lifestyles and enhance the overall well-being of the community.
